父は音楽家で、NHK交響楽団のコンサートマスターも務めたヴァイオリニストの黒柳守綱（旧姓田口）、母はエッセイストの黒柳朝。弟はヴァイオリニストの黒柳紀明、妹はバレリーナでエッセイストの黒柳眞理、伯父には日本ニュースのニューヨーク支社長やアメリカ・メトロニュースの極東代表を務めた田口修治がいる。
